Hey Guys,

I just wanted to write a few words to you.

Thank you for reading my blog and suffering all my rants.

I'm glad that you took notice and followed some of my escapades.

I'm sure the next year will bring new blog entries and stories from me, my life and my work.

I hope that you'll find your way back here and get in touch with me through this site.

This year 2010 brought me a lot of different experiences,

like how I could burn my hand so badly that I still have the scars to show,

or how I finally was able to finish my bachelor study program and am now contemplating not doing my masters and going straight to work,

or how I finally gathered all my courage and applied for a Green Card (oh, I'm still so excited).

Thank you for going through all this with me.

I hope to see you all back next year!!

Hey guys!

Sorry for not updating my blog on a regular basis.

I've had a lot on my mind and totally forgot to write up posts.

So, just to keep you all updated!!
I finished my Bachelor and will now enroll to my Masters Degree. WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

It took me a long while and I'm really happy, that I was able to finish it.

I even forgot about THAT! And I love Halloween!

Since Christmas is now right in front of us I want to wish you all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I'm going to be at my Grandparents playe starting tomorrrow, but still, have a few very special days with your loved ones!
I hope to at least try to get some more posts up and update you all on the various releases that are out and other such stuff.

First BR-Release!

Hello, everyone!!
Did you miss me?!
Well, I missed you guys, but that's not relevant. Here's what's been going on!

I've been quite busy finishing up a few projects there where still partly done. So since that is now done we present you with our next release.

This one also marks our very first BR (Blu-Ray) concert Karaoke PV (we did release the MC sessions of this concert in BR quality though. We're so excited to be able to present you with this and are mightily glad that UFA decided to release this awesome Concert on a Blu-Ray DVD. Thank you UFA!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111.....

Anyways!
This song is so great. I do love this kind of song and I hope in a few days you'll get to see my favourite Song of this particular concert.

But for right now we have this one: High-King - Destiny Love
The lightning, outfits and styling of the girls is just great and they do sound very good together. I wonder if they'll ever release anything again or if Tsunku, in his mighty palace way up high, will someday release something else for these girls.

There's a side note for all the h264 lovers out there: We had trouble with the encoding and for some players it seems to be out of synch. We are very sorry, but after troubleshooting with other encoders and re-encoding it for several times we couldn't fix it (though we were able to fix the double-duration issue with had with it).

PS: On a side note - Bakuman was licenced in German so now I can't work on the karaoke *cries* and I so did look forward to it. This show is amazing, so make sure to check it out and buy the DVDs whenever they might come out! (I have no idea if it's going to be licenced in America though.)

It's official...!

It's official now...

I applied for the Diversity VISA Program and am now an entree to the chance to get a Green Card and Residency. I'm actually quite excited though the real excitement starts now. I still have to wait until May next year to possibly hear back from them.


You all, whish me luck. I really want to migrate to the U.S.A.!

New Release

Sorry for not being around much. I had some stuff to do and now it's finally a little quieter.
Here's one of the lastest releases I forgot to announce.
It's actually one of SC's favourite songs so I really gave it my all. The effects are quite simple but I think they fit the song and mood really well.

The song's called "Koucha no oishii mise" which means "The store with the tasty tea".
Also there's a little something in there - so please take a closer look at the echo parts the girls are singing. You might see that the colors move in the same direction of the color owner ;)

Can you believe it?
It totally forgot, but here it is. One of our latest releases.

THis one is a concert performance from MM' 10 Pikapika concert. The song is so awesome we had to share. I hope you'll enjoy.

CSS is a bitch

Honestly, I've been working on this like forever and getting nowhere. But let's start at the beginning.

Today my aunt came to my grandparents place. Since I was able to get a few things done today, and we're going to celebrate my grandparents 50th (marriage) anniversary tomorrow (well, today actually), I was sitting around with my aunt talking about web-design and the new page she's trying to program and how I saw a few things that looked kinda weird. She's doing fine! Considering that she's nearly blind and doing it just because she wants to.

She actually learned how to use CSS stylesheets and HTML. Not bad at all. But she was going in a wrong direction with it, using way too many layers and styles and actually making her page hard to work with.
So I sat down and got to work on her code. ;( First thing I did was scrap 2/3 of it. She didn't write it correctly, jumping up and down in layers and code and making it hard to work with the existing styles the farther you scripted.

I thing I got most of it sorted out, though I will have to look on it again later today. Funny thing though is, that I actually didn't have a lot of know-how at first. I just sat down, looked up the information I didn't know and worked like a fiend. I think i like CSS. I might try to learn more of it. Won't hurt either way. Craaaap!!!!!!!
It cost me nearly 5 hours and now I only have 5 hours of sleep left.

Net in the middle of the woods

Woah! I'm tired.

Hello everyone! Yesterday was a fun day and I also got to complete 2 new projects. YAY for me!
Unfortunately, I found out how to get internet on my notebook.
"What's so bad about that?", you ask? It would probably be something very nifty to have around (Internet is soooooo cool), but for me it's like an addiction. As soon as I have net access I need to surf on the internet and I tend to loose precious time. It's amazing that I even have internet access here in the middle of the woods. My grandparents are so modern :-)

After fixing up my computer with internet access yesterday night I stayed up until 2 a.m., although I swore it wouldn't be up longer than 12 p.m.. Guess that didn't work out. The consequence was that I promptly overslept today. *sigh* My grandparents are really tolerant, and I'm glad for it, but they do tend to tease me later that I overslept.

The fictive part of my brain likes to blame the lack of sun outside. Since it's rainy and dark you might have the possible excuse that you didn't see it was already this late, unfortunately I have a working clock right in front of me, so I guess I could have checked the time to be on the save side.
Guess that excuse won't really work after all.

It's pissing outside - what I mean? Well, it's raining and that since I woke up this morning (I was awake for a few minutes around 6 a.m. and didn't even consider rolling out of bed; too freaking early). I generally don't have anything against rain, but honestly, I'm here on vacation; I would love to sit outside and get some sun. I'm not really a sun person anyways. As soon as I sit too long in direct sunlight or it's getting later to midday my allergy tends to mess things up. So I generally only enjoy the early morning sun or the late afternoon/evening one. I guess I'm not going to get any more sun here. The forecast looks pretty damn bad - rain until after the weekend *sigh*.

Hi everyone!
The first week of my vacation is now over and it was splendid. I didn't have much time to write any blogposts or to upload any pics. Most pics are from my little cousin anyway ;) and I don't think that's very interesting for you guys.
Anyway. My little cousin Lisa left happily with her mother last Tuesday and I was finally able to get some stuff done this weekend. YES! Though I forgot to write here earlier.

It's raining here right now. We had great weather the last week with up to 35°C, but right now it's effin' cold and we are considering firing up the oven, though it's a little early in the year to start with that. The forecast said it's going to be cold the next few days, so I just hope it's over quickly and we get back to mild autumn weather. 8°C is freaking cold for the end of August.

Since I also finished reading all 6 books I brought with me I'm now working like a fiend on Karaoke effects.

I finished 7 krk's since Saturday - so I'm really pleased with that.
I still have 3 more to go before I can start with anything non-anime related.

The time sure flies by. I won't be home until friday eventhing this week and next week I'm going on a convention and won't be around for a few days. And after that I need to concentrate on my studies.

Oh well!

Time for a short update on what has been going on before I go on vacation in 2 hours.

So, our special release has been finished. I'm talking about the PVs to the very much loved and very awesome anime Nana (TV). It's been a pleasure to work on those as it was also an anime I helped with the karaoke for both Openings and Endings for a German subbing group. The anime hasn't been licensed in Germany even though the fan community rather large.
Guess they are either waiting on season 2 (due whenever the autor finishes with the manga) or they are never going to do it.
I have to admit that I never actually saw this anime in its entirety. I guess it just wasn't my kind of story.

BoAjjang new release - BoA Dangerous Perf

Time for a new release, right?
I've been rather busy getting a lot of new releases out there. Mostly they were Interviews or other some such things from the newly returned Asian Idol Star BoA (Kwon) to her homeland Korea. She's been busy over the last few years as an accomplished artist in Japan and after 5 years of absence she returned to her homeland with a new album, comeback stages on TV and other such things.

This is the first of 2 performances we're going to make.

Devastating news! - 3 MM members to graduate

OMG! I'm crying rivers here! (figure of speech)

This morning my world kinda got a crack in it. Tsunku decided to graduate 3 girls at the end of this falls concert tour!!
Eririn, JunJun and LinLin are leaving Morning Musume somewhen in the second half of the year.
I'm not sure what I should think about this. I can actually understand it at a small level, but then on the other hand I can't.

Kamei Eri seems to be having problems with her skin and needs to get treatment for it. Since doing a lot of physical activity, sweating and costume changes between the performances, it seems like her condition got worse and she wants to get treated for it. I can understand why she wants to do that, but she's also my currently favourite member of the group. I don't know if I should cry or be happy for her that Tsunku lets her leave. Maybe a little of both?
Tsunku stated that after she got treatment and she's recovered he wants to talk about her future carreer, but we all know that's a lot of hot air, right there. We had an incicent like that happen with one of the old °C-ute members, Arihara Kanna, she left for treatment for her foot disfigurement and she got booted out to never return.

HA HA ha! I believe it, when I see her again.

On the other hand, JunJun and LinLin joined MM in 2007 and they improved so much. It seems like Tsunku just wanted them to get better and gain experience to graduate them and turn them out to the Chinese media. I hope, after some time and getting some more lessons, they're going to be singers again. One can only hope.
Tsunku didn't yet state if the girls are going to leave UFA after they graduate or if they just graduate MM and move on to something else. I guess we'll see at the end. I'm wishing them the best of luck!

I wonder what happend to the korean girl that won the auditions.... *huh*

Oh, and the 9th gen auditions startet!!!
 Maybe they were all too old for the group? I mean JunJun and Erin were like 22 years old or so.... *huh* But LinLin was still pretty young (19).

Hello again!

I'm finally back. Okay, I have been since Wednesday but then, I had a lot of work to do so I actually forgot to write a blogpost.
My uncle drove me home with his car, so I actually didn't have to pay for a train ticket. Saved me 7 €, woot! The real reason behind it was a closed up kitchen drain in my sink. Since he at one time learned to be a plumber it was a lucky stroke that he was at my grandparents place. I could actually ask him to help me AND be driven home at the same time. Thanks again, uncle!

I'm getting things done. It isn't as fast as it could be but that's okay.
I finished working on that One Piece OP13 song and am working now on Strike Witches 2 OP (as you can probably see on the right side ------>>>> )
It turned out great, thanks to one of my friends - OutlawJonas! Thanks for helping me out, OJ!!!!! He helped me fix some code I wasn't getting anywhere with. Now, my rocket girl actually has airstreams shooting out behind its feet jet nozzles. WOAH! I can probably never use that effect for anything else, but it was still worth it ;D

On a side note, I finally got my two Warlock ICC-10 gimmicks yesterday. Trinket and shieldhand. =) Now I can start getting my Shaman ICC equipped! Wussa!

On the road again

I'm on my way to my grandparents. BTW. This seat pattern is very. Yuck!

On a short notice...

I just heared yesterday that my little cousin is going to my grandparents place and I promised to keep her company so I'll be heading out to my grandparents early tomorrow morning. I'll probably be back by wednesday or so.

Otherwise things have been quiet here.

I kinda talked myself into 6 new projects as you can see on the right side in my Anime worklist. I don't know why but I just said yes. *sigh* I'm that stupid, yes sir.

On another note: Our first and only s/mileage release in H!F just came out and we decided it also was the last one. SimpleSubs has been working on the pre-debut pvs and will also be working on the majo releases. This one was an exception as our new Typesetter already released a version in his native languages and I was so delighted with that version that I wanted it to be released in english too. This is why it was finally released today - on Wada Ayaka-chan's birthday.

Thursday Release

So here we are again, and yes, we're back with another release. Can you believe it?!
Well, I can't, but we're still going to release it.

This is the latest Single PV that our beloved Mano Erina-chan has released until now. I did tell you in last weeks post, that it was announced that there will be another release in September. Can't wait to see if it's going to be a ballad - eeeeeeew! - or an up-beat song - yeeeaaaah!
I guess I'll just have to wait and see on that one.

So, here is the lastest Song "Onegai Dakara..." which is an up-beat song with a few techno elements in it. I enjoyed working on this one, as it sure was something diffrent from her other up-beat songs. She normally has very "sunny" songs, which means with a lot of cute lyrics and movements but that's it. This one was actually a little deeper. Guess I just love that right now...

Hope you will all enjoy it.
The effects are somewhat different then what I can normally use on H!P releases. H!P doesn't release a lot of techno-ish songs right now.

So, do you know what song is actually missing right now? We've got still one more left to release to make her discography complete!

Buono Godness!

Hey guys!

Did you have a great weekend?
We haaaaad! And to celebrate this we give you the latest and currently last release of our favourite girl band Buono!
This makes it the last single PV release we can give you as we now finished all of them.

I still remember when we first startet out with the very first PV. Back then GTO was the exclusive Typesetter forthis band and I later got the chance to take over his position. Do you still remember it? That was back at the end of 2007. WoW! That makes it nearly 3 years already and the girls have given us one awesome single release after another!
If you didn't have the chance yet you should make sure to check out their songs! They are really awesome, for various reasons...

This one is still one of my most beloved songs from Buono!, so I'm especially happy to be able to present you with this. We played around with different fonts and colors and I hope it looks good for everyone. It was very hard to find the right styling to go with this awesome song.

There will be a few other Buono! Release from us in the future, though, because we're going to give you a few awesome moments from their concert tours. You really shouldn't miss out on them! One of them is going to be from our new Typesetter - NottMiyabi. Thanks for joining us in our quest to give our fans the very best karaoke PVs they can get.

Well, Buono! Of course!!!
How can't we bring you the loveliness of these three ladies? After the discontinuation of the anime show Shugo Chara (and its various sequels) the band came to a sudden stop of activities this February. Avid fans, like me, hope that the girls are going to still get a few singles now and then. We'll have to see what UFA will do and how Tsunku will decide. They certainly earned their success!

But there is no time to mourn for you. Since we bring them to you in order of release here's our penultimate/last but one Buono! release - Bravo Bravo   DOUZO!

Hey guys!

Just a short update inbetween revising for my upcoming exam on Friday.

H!F finally released another PV.

It actually was done last week, but SC decided to space the releases out a little so we'd get more exposure. That's fine with me.

Here's what we got for you:

Melon Kinenbi - Kawaii Kare

A beautiful song from the girls. We later found out that there was some kind of get-together scene at the end of the PV, which pleased us to no end. That's how we like to see our girls.
Unfortunately, the band disbanded in early May after nearly 11 years of making music together. We were glad that we were able to put out the other 3 PVs of the girls around that date in May and now here's the last one we had planned for that occation.
We're just a little late - sorry about that. But I was really busy with other stuff and then I didn't have the motivation to actually work on it. And now, since I'm back to study-mode again, my subber-motivation is back. HAHA! Yeah, that really happens every time I'm right in front of some stupid exam. Oh well. Let's just hope I passed this time!

Exams...

Hi there.

I'm feeling stupid again.

Exams are coming up and what am I doing? Working on Karaoke, again. Every time right before my exam week comes up I tend to fall back to this work routine. It's also, in 99% of the time, the time when I get most of my stuff done. Funny how that works!

Anyway.

Seems like my HD is dead again. On the up side - I was able to actually save all the data that was stored on it. I'm so glad! I’m going to get some more stuff done and then… well, we decided to make another run on ICC10 tonight. Not sure if it’s really going to happen, but since on Wednesday they’re going to reset the IDs we’re going to just try it.

YAAAY! After another bout of wiping around the floor and generally having a lot of fun with those ICC Boss Monsters we finally made it past Lady Whisper's Horror Chamber and even got to do the Air Fight!

I don't exactly remember how often we wiped at Lady but I stopped counting at around 12 times.

I'm just happy that we got to have a great group, with great people in it, that said: "okay, we all died but then it was fun. Let's do it again!"

First ICC10 Guild Raid

Today was our very first WOW guild-intern Raid in ICC10. Unfortunately we didn't get very far as we had a very hard thunderstorm right before we wanted to kill the Lady in the first wing.

We were pretty inexperienced but had a few experienced ppl in the raid which helped us a lot. We didn't quite wipe as many times as I thought we would. YAAAY!

Here's a first picture right before we wiped the very first time at Marrowgar. It only took us 3 tries to get it done properly.

Computer Crisis

Unfortunately I couldn't save any of my files. The good thing is that my new external HD with 2TB Save just arrived. I'm quite happy about it. Will install it soon.

Sad News

I've got pretty sad news.

First, sorry for not being around. Since I came back home from my grandparents place my home system is going bogus on me, I couldn't really work on anything and it is awefully hot here (sidenote to self: you definitly should invest in air conditioning *sweat*).
Then, the worst of the worst things happend:


HARDWARE CRASH!!


My Download/RAW/Anime/Dearest-to-my-heart HD  decided to tell me it's going to walkout on me. I'm pretty sure it's a rebellion. Really. Cause, right before I left everything was fine. I turned down the computers, unplugged them and even made sure there's no apparent electricity turned on around them. They should have been well rested when I came home afterr that week. I thought they would purr for me again, telling me: "Yes, welcome home! We're ready to work with you again."
Guess again.
Now I've lost around 500gig of the latest raws I had stored. All the anime stuff I still had wanted to keep and some other stuff.

My main HD is thinking about a strike. I think I can smell it - or maybe that's just the heat.

So, to come to a conclusion: Sorry, can't work on anything right now. Computer not working properly. Need new HD. *sigh*

Oh, and to make things worse..................... Exams coming up! HA!

Last day in paradise

Time sure flies!

I really haven't realized yet, that I actually am going home today.
The two additional days with my grandparents were just mag. I love how they enjoy every day and it's nice to see the garden blooming outside; not that we had a lot of chance going out since it's been raining nearly the whole week. Well, okay, last weekend was very, very, veeeery sunny. But since then it's been constantly dark, cloudy and rainy, with a little hail and thunder inbetween.
I still think that I love this life. I definitly have to get a garden and a house one day. My appartment's pretty dark - maybe it's time to renovate? Up until now I didn't have a green thumb for anything that's considered vegetation. But I don't give up. If I look at all the wild flowers and the petunias my granny is potting I get this longing, though I really don't think I should start gardening in my miniscule rooms. It would be diffrent if I had a balcony. Oh well, since I don't let's dream on.

On a bright note - and with all the sunshine outside - I was able to finish translating three whole episodes in the last two days. I actually only planned on doing two, but ended up doing all the ones I still had with me - which is three. We're now officially at episode 16 - only another 10 to go until Connichi (I think the series had 26 episodes, total). I guess I'm actually going to keep my goal. WOAHs!

Since I still have some time left before my train leaves - it's not now (stupid typo - I always type it wrong in the first try) half past three and the train is going at half past seven. We're going to have dinner around five. Guess I'm going to get these two PVs done before I leave.

Addendum day 6

Hey there again!

Sorry, I know - there was a flood of posts today but I wanted to keep up with all the affairs and started typing them out early this morning and tried to set the date of the post to previous days to make it look a little more realistic.

After writing up the last post of day 6 a few things happend - most of them not very "exciting" so I'm not going to share. There are probably only 2 or 3 more exciting news.

First would be  xD I helped out my gramps fixing a hook on this tractor (see pic on the side). The pic was after we fixed it, of course. One of the steel ropes he uses to haul tree trunks around was eroded and he decided to cut the piece with the problem off and make a new hook. Easier said than done. That was sweaty work - I tell ya! I really needed that shower after it. We had to hold the freaking cable with four hands (grannys and mine) while my gramps fixed the hook and stabilized it. I had a cramp in my left hand right after that - just before he rapped my left hand knuckles with his hammer. OUCH!

Luckily nothing serious happend and I had a relaxing shower and footbath right after that. I so deserved it!

Then when I was looking up train connections for my ride home tomorrow it seemed like there were no connections between 9.30 am and 6 am the following day anymore. WHAT THE HELL?!?!?! Up until now there was at least one more connection around 7pm for all the late travelers.
Seems like they cut the connection - huh.

Well. Since I don't want to be home this early tomorrow (would be home at around 11am) I decided to stay another day - because, amazingly enough - there's a 7pm train connection on Saturdays. Who would have though?! This is actually pretty logical - first of all I came late to my grandparents placed last Saturday when I arrived here - it was shortly after 6pm. I kinda messed up the whole day and ended up in bed pretty early. And now should I miss a whole freaking day again (this time it's a friday) just to be home really early and end up playing Warcraft because I'm bored out of my wits?

Well, guess again. I'm staying here. Right were I am - well, maybe not in from of the computer... heh

There's one other thing - unfortunately I didn't get a lot of things done. Family and relaxation came first. But on a bright note I finished translating one Anime Episode and I'm nearly done with Episode 2. Isn't that great? I'm happy I at least got that done. Whew!

Maybe I'll be able to get a PV or two done tomorrow and on Saturday! That would be great.

Well that's it folks! I'm going to bed after I finish translating that show.

day 6 - my last day?

Today is my last day here.
The weather seems to be fine - actually the sun is burning down and we're awaiting the thunderstorm that should go through here soon. At least the forecast told us so. Right now, though, we have blue skies, but that doesn't mean anything here. It only means that the thunderstorm later will be really bad.

Yesterday the weather was really horrible. The first time ever we had a tornado here in Austria. Everyone is still in shock. We can't really wrap our minds around it. Also, more than one person died due to the thunderstorm, hail and floodings that we had yesterday. It seems that a thunder also crashed in our house here but since we had everything turned out it didn't cause any damage.

My granny fixed something on the baldachin for Lisa - I told her she had to do it the other way around but she still did it diffrently the last time so now today she fixed it. Now it looks even better! I think my cousin will be happy.

We're going to have lunch soon. Potatoes, spinach and sausages. YAY! I'm looking forward to it!
After that I'll try to get some work done but since I'm going to go home tomorrow morning I won't be able to get a lot done.
It seems like the train times were shortened again and so there's no train going from here to Vienna after 9.28am tomorrow morning. Seems like I had my holidays but without having time to really do anything.
I didn't even have time to finish the books I took with me. Normally I'm able to finished 2 to 3 books in a week - but this week I barely finished one!!!!!

Oh well. I'll survive and everyone else will to if I don't get the stuff done. I don't really care anymore.

day 5 - it could only get better

That's what you'll probably think but yesterday was horrible - well, mostly.
It started out by me waking up very late. It seemed to have rained during the night because everything was wet. It was nearly 9.30am so I hurried to get some breakfast and then take my laundry outside. The sun was shining again and we wanted to do the laundry and hang it up to dry in the sun. The dark laundry was able to finish drying but after lunch and a well deserved nap it started to rain - and rain hard.
The downpour was really hard. It was grey and dark and our white laundry was still hanging outside on the line to dry - ha ha ha - well, now it was rain-washed, again. Since I just woke up from my catnap I walked down and got some hot cocoa and a small piece of cake. My gramps came back from doing some woodwork and he decided to also take a nap - so now, since it was dark and raining and we didn't have anything to do, we all took another nap.
I decided to listen to a radio play of The Three Investigators and crawled into bed while playing on my IPhone. Since it was raining so hard and we had a thunderstorm right on top of us I couldn't go and work on my computer.

That afternoon my aunt called and since my granny just finished making a fancy cake with cherries my aunt decided to drop by for cake and dinner. That was fun, but again I didn't have time to work on my computer. *sigh* Later that evening I watched "Stargate Universe" and after it I went to bed. I was still tired - seems like the weather played a trick on me - and fell a sleep really fast.

The day was funny. I loved having my aunt here and an old friend of the family came by too - unfortunately now the cake is nearly gone *cries* And I had requested it since I hadn't had a cake for a looooong while.

day 4 - working, or not?

Today I hoped to get a little work done!
I woke up early and was full of energy. After an early breakfast I helped my granny with cooking. The weather was fine so I enjoyed reading my book outside and generally enjoy the sun.
I didn't get a lot done today. We finished working on the piece for Lisa - it's a kind of baldachin for one of her dolls. It looks quite lovely. Now I've got the table for myself and can finally get some work done - hopefully.

But in the end I ended up doing nothing. The day went by in a breeze. I took an early shower and later watched some TV. One of my favourite shows were tonight "A home in happiness", where a crew of craftsmen renovate a very old house for a family that is not capable of doing it themselves. My grandparents decided to go to bed early and I watched the show alone. Later I found a few documentaries on TV - one was about the biggest kids in the world.... WOW!

It was after 3 am when I went to bed... *yawns*

day 3 - ouch, sunburn

After a fitful night of sleep we drove off to visit my grannys sisters. We were invited to lunch and coffee. The sun was shining pretty hard and after lunch we went outside. My gramps and the husband of my grannys sister went into the barn to check out some new equipment he bought. After that we all started to trudge around the property. The daugther of my grannys sister built a house right next to the one we stayed in and they were also renovating the very old farm house they had their business rooms in. Naturally we had to check everything out - and I was trudging around right after them, after I had all three furballs on my lap and they had their due scratching. I was covered in gray and white hair after that.
They had a really sweet and jung dog who was covered in loooong long hair and two seamese gray-brown cats which I pitied because it was scortching hot and they had a lot of fur.

For coffee all the other sisters arrived and we had a merry round. I really enjoyed the food but again I was not fit for conversation. I guess it's just not my forte if it's not about music, games or books. *sigh* I held on until shortly after 3 pm. Then I gently nudged my grandparents to go home. My gramps still wanted to haul in the hay this afternoon and my granny and me wanted to start on something for Lisa.

So off we went - and I had a nasty sunburn in my face and on my cleavage. Ouch!

day 2 - numb thumbs

Since I came here a on a very short notice only my grandparents and my favourite aunt knew that I was here. This sunday my Uncle, her wife and my cousin announced themselves to come over for Lunch and Dinner and to have a little chat and to catch up with current affairs. I was pretty lucky. My little cousin - who started to go to school last autumn - is really funny to play with. Even though I'm actually 25 I still enjoy playing around with her. I don't know why, but I'm not into adult talk. I wouldn't know what to say and I probably couldn't say anything anyway so I'd sit around, stare dumbly at a corner and hope nobody starts talking about me, student life in general or anything related to being fat or having to go on a diet. *sigh*
Those are basically the topics they always cover when I'm around - which is why I'm not around.

I snatched up my little cousin - by the name of Lisa, btw - and dragged her off to watch the Sunday Märchen/Fairytale on TV (each Sunday there's a new Märchen running on that channel and I really enjoy watching it). So, we were treated to a new running of "Cinderella", which was actually nice. They tried to go away from the Cinderella everybody knows from Disney and go back to a fairly accurate version of the märchen by the Grimm Brothers. I actually liked it - though they tried to experiment with mood coloring and music. That was pretty annoying, but oh well. I still have to say that I like the Czech version of that story the most - even though it's old and not very accurate.

After that Lisa and I started to play with her Nintendo DS. She wanted me to try to open a few gates in her new game - a game with a turtle named Franklin. We successfully finished 7 levels before my thumbs began to get numb. So later we went a little outside. I enjoyed the sun while Lisa gathered me a few dandelion leaves so we could start making a crown. That was fun. My fingers were all sticky and green after that, but Lisa hat a lot of fun which is what I wanted.

Later we had Dinner - my grandfather has his own schedule which is why every day shortly after 5 pm we have to have dinner, but today we were late. It was after 6pm and it was very yummy. After that Lisa went back to watching TV. Her kids shows started and if she's alone she's not watching them, but she loves to watch them - guess what?! Yeah, I was watching them with her. We were able to watch a few shows before her parents decided to go.

After everyone was sent off I kissed my grandparents good night and went to bed. I was able to finish the book I was reading - Glory in Death by JD Robb - and started on the third installment of the series - Immortal in Death.

day 1 - nothing eventful

It's been a while since I had my last real holiday. Amazing enough I consider a holiday at my grandparents place in the alps as the ultimate holiday. It's beautiful here. We're smack-dap in the middle of the woods with another two houses in the clearing. Round us there's lots of wood and grassy streches. A few feet from here is a small trickling stream which how longer you follow it the bigger it gets.
Spring's finally here. Everything is green. You can even see how the trees around us grow.

The first day was pretty uneventful. We didn't do a lot because I came in late. Just a late dinner and a little TV watching with my grandparents. After that I went to bed and read a little (as you can see in my previous post I was really tired).

Short Notice...

On a Short Notice I just want to tell everybody that I'll be away starting from Saturday until probably late next week. I'll be online through my Iphone and post something from time to time, but won't be here for long posts.

I'm going on a short Translation & Typesetting Holiday. Whazzat? Well, basically I'm packing a few things, take my notebook with me and my External HD with all the typesetting stuff on it and seclude myself to a place with no internet. Why? To get some stuff done, of course!!!

Finally reached LVL 60!!

I finally made it!
My Orc Shaman reached LVL 60 today. I'm really happy. Now there's no stopping me. 20 LVL to go!

Melon 3rd stage

It's time for the 3rd  Melon Kinenbi video in our release special. Again, I'm very sorry that we took so long but now the 3 PV’s we had planned are out and one more to go! But due to that video not being timed yet it's going to take a while for us to finish it. So be patient!
Since our Melon Special is now "over", temporarily until I get timings for the other vid, I'll concentrate on some of the older releases we have stacked up. I think I'm going to work on some Buono! Vids next. We’re missing the latest two!

I'll keep you all updated.

As for now - here's a thumbnail of the new release. Its Melon Kinenbi’s very first single! It was released back in 2000 and I still love this vid very much. It’s funny and a very good example of the video quality back at the beginning of the century was. It’s funny how the quality has changed over the past 10 years.

Melon 2nd Stage

Finally! We’re finished with this song and going in the second round of our Melon Kinenbi release special (I think SC will release it either when he come back from his classes or before he goes to bed). I’m sorry I took so long but I’m again craving my WoW addiction excessively and trying to get rid of it again… it doesn’t really work though. I’m still going to try to get these pending releases out as soon as humanly or at least Tomo- possible.

This is our second release of this group special and we’re probably going to put out another 2 within the next few weeks. We’re actually planning to do their 1st and 11th releases too. But that’s another story.

This release is actually the one I already wrote about – the one with the big file size. After watching our QC version we decided to skip the huge-ass pixilation effect and go with something a little smaller and better fitting. In the end it turned out just as we had first planned and I’m very pleased with the finished result. I’m just sad that I had to skip on the pixilation effect, but if truth be told it didn’t look very fitting, so I’m a lot happier now.

I hope you guys will like how it turned out too.

MELON's NOT DEAD

Yesterday was the day that Melon Kinenbi, one of my favourite groups from Hello!Project, had their last concert. They decided to go their seperate ways after 10 years of making music together.
I'm honestly very sad but also very proud of the girls. They were the only group that had no additional members since they started the band and they kept a semi steady release stream which was also nice. They also had a very mature sound to them.
If asked what song I loved the most it would definitly be "It's unmei" (It's fate) a very awesome single from the early stages of their career. I think it was actually their 4th or 5th single - it's the 4th, back from 2001, I looked it up!
Another song I pretty much adore and is still one of the greatest concert songs every is "saa! koibito ni narou" which is also their 5th single (again, looked it up).

Well, to comemorate their disbandment and last concert H!F decided to do a few of their songs as well as Utaban releases. I saw that SC already released all the Utaban songs and also the one PV that we had ready for the release "Namida no Taiyou" - again a very good song, also a very sparkly one.
I'm sorry that I wasn't able to finish the other two songs we had planned for this day but due to me having exams last week and then I had to get some stuff at home done I wasn't able to push them out earlier. I'm going to work on those now and with luck one might come out later today and the other somewhen tomorrow.

Again, my apologies, but, haha, noone knew of those songs, so you guys can't be mad at me ;)

Fansubber 101

Haha, I just had a funny episode with one of our new trainees. We were trying to work out where the kinks in his latest QC where and what we wanted him to change. As we had some communication troubles due to both of us not using the same program and both of us not being native English speakers we went back and mailed us pictures, which we colored in different colors and tried to communicate the meaning of what we changed.
Now, if you actually read our dialogues that accompanied more than 15 pictures you'd laugh your ass off, but then, I'm not posting that.

So this was the pic I got from him with his latest changes for coloring, fonts and effects.

If you've got some experience with typesetting, styles and effects you'll see a few different things that didn't quite work out for this effect.
The standard settings for this effect are: x scale 100, y scale 148, border 1.5, font size 26, blur0, be0.
the things that really didn't work and had to go were the shrinking fscy scale at the beginning of the highlight transformation (he had a \fscy120 somewhere in there) as well as the blur1 that came out of nowhere (we didn’t have be or blur in the fade-in) and the border 3 (our styling had a border 1.5 outline). We also had a few color changes as his red was way too bright and actually pixilated in the QC encode.

So how do you tell someone that he needs to have the same setting both at the beginning and at the end of the highlight layer so that if you watch it as a whole it has a flowing kind of animation. Our way were colorful pictures … So if push comes to shove a correct looking script of mine is getting mauled at with neon colors and circles. ARGH! Would you know what I was trying to get across?

I had 2 exams today and I think I passed them both. yay for me!!
I was pretty unsure whether I would be able to pass the Laws of
Communication exam with all its politics and law paragraphs this
afternoon but was pretty sure I would pass this mornings
Wirkungsforschung exam- sorry, the English term is beyond me. I'll
look it up when I'm home.
Funny thing though - laws went a lot better :/

I hope I passed them both!!!

Add: Ooooh, just found out that there is no fancy word for Wirkungsforschung in English, but what it's basically about is a Marketing Effectiveness Research. Hope that'll do.

Back to work now!

And dang, it's so hot. The summer is going to be scorching if it's already this hot at the end of April

Wow! Today I was trying out a new receipt I invented myself... well, at least mostly. I had read about a similiar receipt years ago and today I thought I'd do it again.
It's basically a salty pancake and as a stuffing a mix of onions, red pepper and ground meat. I cooked it up with spices and made a bouillon-y sauce. Yummy!!

Outbreak! err... Break out!

While I'm enjoying this release in the background right now, I'm writing up this post.

Once again I want to thank everyone for their consideration and great words. I know some will never understand and others do (and yes, that was meant to be cryptic).
Since we decided to keep on working here's our next release. It was actually supposed to come out together with the releases from April 12th, but due to me being away on personal business I wasn't able to finish it in time.
So I decided to give it top priority and push it out as soon as I was back working.
So here it is now....

I hope this is great news to everyone that didn't already know about it.

We decided due to the huge amount of people responding and telling us that they don't want us to give up, to just release at our own leisure. We'll take our time and probably come up with a few special occations to drop a few videos on you.

This also means I'm going to post about releases again soon!

3 years and 400 releases!

Hey there everybody!

I just wanted to give a short shoutout to everyone now that we finally released our long lasting 400th project with which we are also celebrating our 3rd anniversary. It's been 3 years since the founding of Hello!Fansubs and we even managed to put out a wooping 400 releases. This is amazing!
 
This  release took us some time and even though I didn't really have a hand in it, I'm very pleased how it turned out and hope that everybody will enjoy this amazing release. It's freaking big!

I want to thank everyone that has lend us a hand over the years and I also want to thank all the fans that keep supporting us. You guys rock!
